Patricia Lovett-Reid and Fred Ketchen
were awarded Honorary FCSI designations by CSI during a reception that took place at the TSX.
Patricia
Lovett-Reid was awarded an Honorary FCSI designation to recognize
and pay tribute to her exemplary work in helping educate women,
youth and fellow Canadians about investing and personal finance
and encouraging them to take a more active role in their financial
affairs.
Among her many accomplishments, Lovett-Reid, senior vice-president
of TD Waterhouse, has inspired Canadian women and youth to take
charge of their finances and investments by co-authoring four books
for these groups. She has hosted a weekly financial planning program
and makes regular appearances on television programs throughout
Canada.
Fred
Ketchen was presented with an Honorary FCSI designation to recognize
his extraordinary efforts towards helping Canadians increase their
knowledge and awareness of investing, his contribution towards the
evolution of the Toronto Stock Exchange and his unwavering commitment
to the community.
Ketchen, managing director of equity trading at Scotia Capital,
began his career at McLeod Young Weir & Company. He has held
senior positions with the Toronto Stock Exchange and was a strong
catalyst in modernizing the Exchange's policies and practices. He
is an often-quoted source in financial media and each morning, presents
a market analysis for a national news program. In addition, Fred
provides daily market comments for radio stations in Montreal, Toronto
and Winnipeg.
